Who we are

What we stand
for and why it matters

Friends of the Mead is the parent-teacher association for The Mead School. We are a volunteer-run group of parents, carers and staff who raise funds that directly enrich school life for every child.

Every penny we raise goes straight back into the school — from playground equipment and library books to whole-school arts days and experiences outside the curriculum.

  • Every child

Enrichment for all pupils, not just a few.

  • Community

Connections between families, staff and the wider town.

  • Transparency

Every pound tracked and reported back.

  • Ambition

We set high targets and meet them.

Fundraising 2026–27

Watch the thermometer rise

We are starting this year from scratch, at £0. Every event, every raffle, every bake sale adds up, and the thermometer moves as soon as our first event banks its takings.

Our goal for the year is £24,000. Every penny goes back to the school, and the committee agrees where it is spent with the head as the year goes on.

Could your business be our first?

We are brand new and have no business supporters yet. An auction lot, a raffle prize, sponsorship of a single event or an hour of your time — all of it is useful, and founding supporters get named on every programme we print this year.
