Our purpose
Why we exist
Friends of the Mead is the parent-teacher association charity for The Mead School, Tunbridge Wells. We are parents, carers, grandparents and staff who believe school life should be rich, memorable and full of opportunity for every child.
We raise funds through events, our silent auction and the generosity of local businesses — and every penny goes back to the school. We take no management fee, and committee expenses are never paid out of donations.
This is our first year, so we have no track record to show you yet — and we would rather say that than quote a number we cannot evidence. What we do have is a full calendar of 20 events, a £24,000 goal for 2026–27, and a published total that moves as we raise it.
Our school rule
“Treat others as you would wish to be treated: with kindness, respect and honesty.”

Our values
What we believe in doing
Every child
Enrichment should be universal. We fund things that reach all 400 pupils rather than a lucky handful.
Community
A school is its people. We build connections between families, staff and the wider town.
Transparency
Every pound is tracked and published. You will always know exactly what your contribution paid for.
Ambition
We set high targets and meet them. Small school, big ideas — driven by belief in every child.

Our track record
What we will fund
Year one starts now
We have not funded anything yet, because we have not raised anything yet. This is where each year’s events and what they paid for will be listed — the first entries appear after our first events this term.
